Personality traits
- Consider different combinations of the Big Five personality theory, such as O (Low), C (High), E (Low), A (High), and N (Low). What would this person be like? Do you know anyone who is like this? Can you select politicians, movie stars, and other famous people and rate them on the Big Five?
I don’t know how exactly this person will be because basing to the theories that are above it will be challenging whereby he/she will have to be more on the practical,achievement-striving person, withdrawn when things will be tough but will be trustworthy on his/her work and finally will be even-tempered when being annoyed or when something does not goes well how it was expected. The person that will be like this, I choose the former president of USA Barack Obama, was practical, achieving striving and optimistic president.
- O(openness)-high( he was outgoing president)
- C(conscientiousness)-high (he was a hard-working president)
- E(extraversion)-high(he was a trustworthy president)
- Many people loved an (agreeableness)-he as president
- N-neuroticism-he was prone to adverse impacts on the people during his tenure.
- How do you think learning and inherited personality traits get combined in adult personality?
From the influence of the things that people watch from television, from their parents, friends make them learn more characteristics from them that they adopt and combine those characteristics that they have adopted from the environment to the body and combine with the inherited ones .such as becoming thugs most people learn this behavior from their friends and sometimes situation of life force them to do so.
- Can you think of instances where people do not act consistently—where their personality traits are not good predictors of their behavior?
Good examples are seen from the ladies when they, in their menstruation, normally behave awkwardly sometimes, they behave normally the next minute they become moody.
- Has your personality changed over time, and in what ways?
I admit my personality has changed a lot because when I was young I couldn’t express myself in front of the people I was too shy but now I can express myself without fear.
- Can you think of a personality trait not mentioned in this module that describes how people differ from one another?
I can say culture whereby people of the same culture understand each other but when youre not of the same culture you cant fit in them example is of whites whereby they have a tendance of
hating blacks by believing that every blacks is violent .
- When do extremes in personality traits become harmful, and when are they unusual but productive of good outcomes?
Extremes in personality traits become harmful in human when it impacted the body with the negativity such as injuries, loss of life etc such as traits of extrovert when the person is rough in what he/she does and it might be of productive when the person has achieved what he/she was striving for such as people become politician by being extrovert and most of them they are rough in their speech thus benefiting from their personalities.
