Speech is one of the ways of sharing information and imparting vital knowledge of students and the general public. In cases where students are not convinced of specific issues and have no position or take on, persuasive speech may help them to make a decision and make a stand. Persuasive speech is one of the most used speeches to convince listeners of a particular point. In community colleges, the primary objective of the persuasive speech is to convince or entice students to believe in a given point of view that is deemed the best. An excellent example of a persuasive speech is seen in the advertisement. In community colleges, persuasive speech is taught as a subject during the course at a certain fee. Given the essence and creative requirement of persuasive speech, it should be free on community colleges.

Free persuasive speech on community colleges would help many students argue their points of view on given subjects. The free persuasive speech will enable many students to learn argumentative aspects such as logos and pathos.  With logos knowledge, students can present a set of information and convince their audiences that their point of view is the best alternative (Monroe, 1955). Through learning logos, students presentations would provide a conclusion that is rationally true and convincing enough as the best course of action. If offered free in community colleges, learners would have access to pathos aspects of speech. The pathos elements can help in student’s presentations by including emotional appeals that seek to make the audience feel in an intended pattern to accept the conclusion. In case the community colleges offer free persuasive speech, then may students will have the opportunity to present convincing ideas and points before a multitude of the audience to drive their points through a well-organized conclusion. Colleges, therefore, need to consider offering persuasive speech courses for free and help learners gain a lot of knowledge while in school.

Persuasive speech emphasizes on what the audience can do and what actions they can take. Frymier & Shulman (1995) argues that “through a motivated sequence method, persuasive speech presents the audience with control of what actions” (p40). By prioritizing the audience actions, persuasive speech knowledge is essential for both presenters and the audience. This will help stress the essence of solutions best of facts and points presented and proposes solutions. Persuasive skills are essential to convince listeners that your point of view is the best; therefore, such skills should be acquired for free in community colleges (McDermott, 2004). Further, charging persuasive speech presenters at various venues should stop. Presenters of ideas that are noble to society should be given a chance for free to air their take and help other people also to understand the stake. By offering persuasive skills for free at the colleges and allowing free presentations in different venues, the value of persuasive speech can be realized (Mulder, 2013). Instructors at community colleges should encourage their students to engage in persuasive speeches to help them improve their presentation skills. Getting audience attention requires a hook, need and satisfactory solution in a speech. Such skills can only be learned thoroughly in schools in the respective courses.  The ability of learners to gains the hook, need, and satisfactory skills depend on their access to learning materials and lessons. This further relies on the cost, which in many cases, the learners cannot afford. It is, therefore, reasonable to allow learners to gain such skills for free in community colleges.

Both learning persuasive speech and presentation of the speech should be free in community colleges. In such a case, the very benefits of a persuasive speech can suffice hence helping both the audience and the presenter to get new ideas (Robinson, 2019). For example, through speech, the audience tends to get a repetition of facts that they internalize and make them into actions that helps the society to move forward. For presenters, it is essential to arrange the argumentative points in the step by step to persuade the audience. The experience audience and presenters get from persuasive speech enhance their critical thinking; thus, they make well-thought decisions (Peters & Hoetjes, 2017). By suggesting new ideas and ways of solving problems, persuasive speech presenters provide a broad way and open-ended solution possibilities. Persuasive speech helps people think outside the box and comprehend various sides of an issue.

In conclusion, it is reasonable to augur that persuasive speech on community college should be free to give the importance to both the audience and the presenters. Learning persuasive speech and communication skills in community colleges should be free to increase the rate and the number of learners who equip themselves with such skills. Besides, the presentation of a persuasive speech for whatever the type of audience and in any platform should be free to enhance the spirit of communication. Persuasive speech is one of the most used speeches to convince listeners of a particular point. In community colleges, the primary objective of the persuasive speech is to convince or entice students to believe in a given point of view that is deemed the best thus should be free.
