Philosophy in real life

When we hear about knowing what comes to our minds is the ability to be creative and coming up with new ideas. According to Gettier, (1963) to view that one has a justified true belief that p then one knows p. Every decision that is made in human life require one to think and this drives him to use his little knowledge to avoid mistakes. It’s true that for one to come up with new thing knowledge is a factor. And people may ask what this knowledge is. I may say knowledge is the ability of mankind to think. Sometimes I end asking myself, what is knowledge? , what does it mean to say that I know something and I can validate? , how do I know that I know? This is some of the questions that I ask myself time to time.

I have realized that for one to claim that he /she understand what knowledge is, he has to learn by senses. You have to see, feel, taste and sometimes to smell to have a better understanding of the thing you wish to know. I create a sense of truth and a confident human being to validate his knowhow.  According to Jonas R. B. (2012), to make the rational decision we refer to those senses. to claim that he /she is wiser, then he should be able to have interacted with a lot of things. This is the reason why those people who have interacted with more things they are more knowledgeable and wise.

This has been a good reason as to why teachers’ uses abstract things, especially when teaching pupils because they want to instil knowledge to them through senses. Take for instance you may ask somebody to justify whether something is true. The best way to proof is by providing with evidence which is an abstract object. This creates a sense of truth and confidence to that person. If somebody has to claim to genuine knowledge in a certain field of enquiry or even information. One should be prepared to offer a good kind explanation. Sometimes people justify their knowledge in believing to the true proposition in something but they don’t know what that something is. Maybe, for instance, having faith doesn’t require one to use senses or to feel but only truth and believe.

Apart from senses knowledge is gained through critical thinking as said that nobody is born a fool. Every individual is wise. Like for instance while a child is still young he claims that God exists he lives above. It is not necessary that the child got information from somebody else but through his intellectual ability of it. To claim a proposition is the truth and that it needs justification sometimes require support from the intellectual ability of the claimer of a proposition.

Nowadays to claim you know something you need to provide with facts concerning the same. This kind of claim is relied mostly upon by the scientist where they use facts, laws and principles. They govern their work as a scientist while dealing with most of their problems. To claim one knows more about science his reference is to the facts and principles of sciences. The principles used are either inductive or deductive and they are drawn based on pieces of evidence from experience. This evidences from experience presuppose logical principles which are elicited by experiences. It is also good to know that while claiming to know we might base our justification on two bases that are when we say knowledge of things we mean it by either giving a proper description or by acquaintances. By description, it requires true propositions while that of acquaintances requires awareness of something.

When we talk of knowledge we should bear in our mind justification through the truth. Knowing means you have complete knowhow of the proposition that you claim it exists. For instance, when say q I must be knowing it is an alphabet and know its uses.

The study of being has been there from the beginning of the world. To understand being one does not study himself alone but also other beings. Unlike other creatures human being is one of the creatures that have unique characteristics despite him having the same characteristics as other living organisms and also being classified with another animal as a mammal. Human being has always and will always try to change the world and to shape the way it suites himself. One way is by modification and try to make life easy by getting whatever he wants. Although human has tried to make things easier it has only been one thing that limits him, time. A day all along man has always tried to do everything and modify everything but time has become an obstacle to his discoveries Griswold (2001). Most of the philosophers have tried to explain being in by his actions they base their argument on the science as the main cause changes to human life, others argue of introspection and conceptual analysis of objects.

Beings, unlike other creatures, are known to have characteristics of aesthetics and ownership of property including money to have power and gain a status quo to the community he lives in. in social life, man will require to be given attention to have a sense of belonging to love and also to be loved. The position that human being hold which has far-reaching implications regarding issues such as personal identity, ethics, law and mind-body problems. It accounts to changes that occur to human lifetime. Change is ubiquitous (Litus 1962).

Study of being most of the time raises many questions about how they could have been if a human being were not there. But with a human, there have been possibilities to change the world but also, on the other hand, there has been determinism factors of which they inhibit human being from carrying out his work of changing the world Geisler (1999).  Determinism is the proposition that every event that includes a man recognition, decision and action are determined by unbroken chains of prior occurrences. On the other hand, possibilism does not pose a wall to human activities as he carries them without any opposition.

Other question one raises while studying being is about religion and his spiritual journey. Despite human being having the same characteristics, they differ in their personality and their way of worshipping and also beliefs. It poses a question of whether there is only one god’s monotheism or many gods’ polytheisms. Whether a divine entity directly intervenes in the world and whether. It tries to explain the relationship of god or gods with human and whether those gods and the world are different. Studying a human being it takes into consideration on the issues of the science and the principles that he formulates. With time human has changed his life through technological advancement. His life is becoming more and easier as he is moving from labour-based work to skill-based work. In all the study of human one thing to be considered is the ethical changes that occur during a lifetime this is following Buddhist where they are their teaching in human development.

The term value meant the worth of something, chiefly in the economic sense of exchange them, as in the work of the 18th-century political economist such as Adam Smith. A wide extension for the meaning of value to broader areas of philosophical interest occurred during the 19th century under the influence of a variety of philosophers and scholars. A difference is mainly made between an instrumental and intrinsic moral value that is between what is good as a means and what is regarded as good as an end of a behaviour

According to John Dewey (1922) he presented a pragmatic interpretation and tried to break down those differences between means and ends, though his effort was more likely as a way of emphasizing all point that many actual things in human life which include knowledge, health and virtue which are good in both senses of human being. Other philosophers have multiplied the distinctions differentiating, for example, between instrumental value (being good for some purpose) and technical value (being good at doing something) or between a contributory value being good as part of a whole and final value being good as a whole.

Many different answers are given to the question of what is intrinsically good. According to Hedonist (1926), he says it is pleasure; Pragmatists satisfaction, growth,  adjustment goodwill; Humanists, harmonious self-realization; Christians, the love of God. Pluralists, such as Ross,  argue that there is any value of intrinsically good moral things. Moore, a founding father and a  developer of a theory of organic wholes in being, holds that the value of all the things which are either bad or good depends upon how they have been combined.

Sometimes I ask myself whether something is of value because it is desired or whether it is desired because it has value, as objectivists such as Moore claim. In both cases, the value on judgments are assumed to have a mental disorder, and the approaches differ only on few things that is whether a value exists as a property of something independently of human interest and nature in it or desire for it. It is good to emphasize freedom, choices and decision  of individual  values, also appear to reject any logical or ontological and teleological connection that exists between fact and value
