Playing Offline in League of Legends
League of Legends is a team-based strategy game. It is one of the most popular MOBA games of the current time. In this game, two teams choose five champions from a pool of over 140 champions and face off in a battle to destroy other teams base.
Advantages of Playing Offline
Avoid Chatting
Sometimes you don’t want to chat with some annoying friend of yours who always starts texting you whenever you come online, and you don’t want to bother with him and don’t want him to feel bad that you didn’t reply and to prevent that you just want to go offline.
Avoid Playing with Friends
Playing with friends can be a pain. Sometimes you want to solo queue and not play with your noob or raging friends. You want to avoid them and save yourself from their outrage and want to be left in peace.
Not Let Others Know You are Online
Sometimes you want to lay low, and whether it is your friends or your family, you don’t want them to know you are playing, whether it be the time you shouldn’t be playing or just can’t let your friends know you played without them.
Have a Regular Me Time?
We have all been there when we come home tired after a long day of work and just want to play one or two peaceful games before going to sleep at that time the last thing you want is a friend inviting you to PVP and spamming your chat box.
Deleting Friends
Or maybe you don’t want to delete your friends and shatter your friendship in a fit of rage. We all have had that moment when we get so angry that we do literally wish to delete and block that annoying friend. And to avoid that you want to play offline.
How to play offline in League of Legends
Playing offline means playing online games without your friends or anyone noticing you playing, you will appear offline in their chat, but you will be enjoying the game without them even seeing. Being able to play offline in a competitive game is a massive plus because nothing is worse than queuing up with your friends in a competitive match and losing five times in a row.
Offline mode is convenient, but unfortunately, unlike other video game digital distribution software, Riot games do not offer a built-in offline mode. But you can work your way around it as there are many tutorials and guides on the internet that teach you how to disconnect from your League of Legends chat servers.
Using Command Prompt
This method usually varies from region to region.
- First, you have to make sure your Windows Firewall is enabled.
- Open the Command Prompt as Administrator
- Copy this “netsh advfirewall firewall add rule name=”lolchat” dir=out remoteip=192.64.174.69 protocol=TCP action=block.”
- Paste the above command into the command prompt
These steps will work for North American Servers only. In order for it to work on other servers, you have to change this “192.64.174.69” to your servers IP.
To check your servers IP:
- Enter “euw1.lol.riotgames.com” into the Command Prompt
Note: If this doesn’t work, try changing ‘1’ to ‘2’
Using Third-Party Software
The other method is to use Deceive Application.
- Download the Application
- Launch the Application
- Choose the location of your LeagueClient.exe
- Done!
