PM Quality Metrics
The title of the article is “What Are The Quality Metrics in Project Management?” The article covers three main quality metrics in project management. The first quality metric is the planned value which is the total amount of money required to complete the project (Kijko, 2017). The second quality metric is the actual cost which incorporates the amount of money that has been spent on the project, the time used to complete the project, and the various teams and their salaries (Kijko, 2017). The final metric is the earned value which is the budgeted cost of the total work done, and it incorporates the entire budget of the project and the amount received for the task.
This article was chosen because it breaks down the project management performance metrics into three that can be understood easily. As the reader, I was impressed by the items way of presenting the information since it also contains various formulae for calculating the different costs. The article is very significant to the topic since it stipulates these performance metrics and addresses each of them at a time. Therefore, it breaks down the topic into a way that the layman can comprehend it in details.
Finally, the article relates to the roles of project managers in providing a quality product. It stipulates that the project manager has the responsibility of ensuring quality in projects by tracking all the aspects of the process. The manager oversees the budget, comes up with the teams for the project, and monitors them closely to ensure the tasks are performed to the required standard and quality.
