The evaluation of specific policies comes as a strong influence by values. As a result, the ethics of evaluation conflict adhere to societal social work values in numerous ways. The evaluation of evidence-based policies achieves a positive impact. The central policies developed based on research may sometimes be biased due to distrust of researchers by the public officials (Jansson, 2013). Policy developers should show clients their dedication to implementing the policies. Also, policy advocates have the mandate to understand and practice their policies.
How the Values of Evaluation Conflict Follow Social Work Values
Social workers seek guidance and control from the NASW code of ethics. Purely moral grounds are applicable in opposing or supporting societal policies. It isn’t easy and challenging for social workers to critically decide on professional values and their values (Willis & Molina, 2019). Social workers mostly confronted by a dilemma in embracing professional values and their values, a case that dictates the effect of personal values on the professional values (“National Association of Social Workers,” 2017). Also, social workers have the role of considering ethical theories and principles generally, with a keen consideration of the NASW Code of ethics as the central source of values.
Practices Applicable in Defending the Feasibility of and Effectiveness of Evidence-Based Policies
The essential applications I would use in the deference of Feasibility and effectiveness of my evidence-based policy is through establishing coalitions. Also, the embracement of the community toolbox is critical in defending the efficiency of evidence-based strategies. The primary application of alliances is in the accomplishment of objectives beyond individual member organizations. The goals achieved in the coalition include information sharing and proper coordination of services (Jansson, 2013). Moreover, coalition and the community toolbox will enhance community education to advocacy on fundamental environmental policy changes. The protected policies must always be reasonable and of great value to society.
