Pool Drinking Games
My idea of having fun is traveling to a faraway land, either somewhere in Asia, preferably Vietnam or in Africa, probably Kenya or South Africa. Then I will find me a lovely beach in the mentioned countries’ key cities. I will then proceed to strip to my inner clothes, find a bench, lay on it as I bask in the sun. When I have had enough of the sun’s rays, I’ll take a swim in the oceans, I might get more bored, so I’ll be forced to find some lady to keep me company. Where will I find this lady? I’ll tell you; I’ll swim deeper into the ocean, and lo! Right before my eyes, a mermaid will avail herself, and we will be friends, and we will be thrilled… See, the thing is, if wishes were horses, beggars could fly, unfortunately, am just a random dude earning an average salary as anyone else so I doubt whether I can afford a trip to a beach overseas, leave alone meeting a mermaid.
But a man has to enjoy oneself. So, what do I do? Since I have always been wise, I find cheaper alternatives. Yes, I heard there is a swimming pool party a few blocks away from here. See what I did there, I’ll be swimming and basking in the sun, except that I’ll be just a few miles away, unlike Asia/Africa where I’ll be thousands of miles away. Then I’ll also be swimming with girls as opposed to mermaids. Then there will also be alcohol, the love of my life. I don’t care what you are doing with your life, but a party with a free drink is the definition of a real party. To top it up, a party with alcohol beside a swimming pool, men, that party is bananas!
Okay enough of the talk, so the people at the parties want to try out drinking games related to swimming. As a humble and kind boy, I offered to write them some of the pool drinking games I happen to know, here we go.
- Relay Race Flip Cup
A standard game that relies upon flip cups as the name suggests. Except for the alcohol, any person, regardless of their age, can join and play this game.
Requirements:
Alcohol
Flip cups
Two teams of players
Flip cup table
Rules:
The game relay flip cup starts by setting up a regular game of flip glass on one side of the yard. It is recommended the cups to be set a long distance from the pool, the longer the length from the swimming pool, the better.
To start the play, two players from each team jump into the pool and begins swimming to the opposite side.
When they manage to get to the opposite side of the pool, they should then move out of the pool, rush to the flip cup table, consume their drink, and finally proceed to flip their mug.
When a player effectively completes their round of pool flipping their cup, they should signal the next player in their group who is holding up patiently to plummet into the pool.
The primary group to get every one of their players to swim over the pool and play flip cup on the record time wins.
For those who feel that the game may be too dull for their liking, they can include a rule that expresses that “The Anchor” that is the last player to go for each group – must bounce back once again into the pool after their round to try to win.
- Chicken
One of the greatest games ever invented. Very flexible, can even be played in offices, mosques, and any other place due to the flexibility of their rules; that is players can twist the rules to serve them their purpose.
Requirement/Set Up:
The most widely recognized adaptation of this game is to have a couple of folks remain in the shallow region of a pool; then some young ladies proceed to sit on the folks’ shoulders. To do this, have the person’s crouch into the water, and the young ladies climb onto their back, hanging on with their legs, just like you carry the babies around a place.
Then the frenzy of the game begins. The objective is to thump the other young lady off of the back of the other player. It truly is marvelous and funny, especially if liquor is included. A more straightforward game consists of a basketball or football and a child floatation gadget.
Rules:
Place the child floatation gadget at the edge of the pool. Approximate your distance from the device to be around 50 ft.
Let every player alternate in tossing the ball into the floatation gadget. It more often than not takes like 2-3 attempts to get the ball to remain inside the device.
Everybody who misses takes a shot. This can likewise be flipped around, and the individuals who make it in the child floatation gadget may instead take a shot.
Lastly, I am not sure about this, but I heard that things could be made even much better with a bottle of Johnnie Walker whiskey.
A bottle of Johnnie Walker that is half full drifts in the pool. Have every player stay at their different places of the pool, and when the Johnnie Walker bottle approaches them, they should take a shot.
Have them push the bottle to the next individual they need coerce into taking a shot.
Be very careful, as it is possible to get very drunk if the bottle approaches you multiple times.
Remember, if there is a teetotaller amongst you, switch the alcohol for water or a soft drink.
- Floating Beer Pong
I mentioned somewhere that this game is almost everywhere like bacteria. Therefore, I will tell a couple of facts to get you going in the pool.
Rules:
The rules are straightforward, the two teams, or the two players alternate tossing their ping pong balls into different groups glasses.
The first group to sink a ping pong ball into every one of their opponent’s group’s ten solo cups are crowned the winners.
Drink each time one of your glasses is taken down from the game.
- Watermelon Ball
Watermelon Ball is a fun-filled one of a kind pool game consolidating segments of football, and rugby in the water. The ball used to play Watermelon Ball is impartially light, which enables the ball to be passed up to 10 feet and bounced like a b-ball under the water.
Requirements:
A table with drinks sets on beside the two ends of the swimming pool.
Watermelon balls
A team of two players
Rules/Set Up
Decide to play any game you so desire; it could be rugby or football (Unless you are Jesus you, of course, can’t play in the swimming pool. So, what do you do? Set up a playing field beside the swimming pool).
As opposed to rugby or football, there will be no specific scoreline in this game; the goal will be, you guessed it right, the table full of drinks.
For instance, assuming you are playing rugby, a player will rush to the scoreline (table with drinks) with the watermelon ball, before he is caught up, he imbibes a mouthful of alcohol, and so on and on.
The team that manages to imbibe most glasses are crowned the winners.
- Swimming Pool Basketball Game
This game is what its name says it is; a swimming pool basketball game, more like an updated version of the watermelon game.
Requirements:
Alcohol
Basketball
Players
Rules:
Set up a basketball playing zone.
Group yourselves into two teams
Play like you normally play basketball.
Whenever a player manages to score, he takes a shot.
Or even better, they can decide to pick the player from the challenging team who is to do precisely what the scorer demand.
There is no specific winner; by the end of the day, many peeps will be wasted beyond redeemable level.
We call for care during the playing of these games, it is one thing to play sober and another thing to play drunk.
- Sharks and Minnows
There’s a reason this amusement is an exemplary pool drinking game… simple to learn, incredibly enjoyable, and no equipment are required.
Rules:
Pick one individual as the shark.
The individual begins at one side of the deep end of the pool. The remaining players are the minnows, and they line up on the contrary side.
The shark lures the minnows over by saying “Swim Minnows,” and after that, the minnows must bounce in the pool and swim crosswise over without getting spotted by the shark.
When they are spotted, the minnow is required to take a shot, and assist the shark in chasing other minnows.
The untagged players escape the pool and line up again inverse the shark. This proceeds until the majority of the minnows are captured. They then take a shot.
So, there you go. Those are the best drinking games suited for swimming pool, feel free to add or exclude regulations. Remember, drink responsibly.
