Potential academic majors and career choices
After carrying out a strong interest inventory Kel shows that he receives high scores in both social, enterprising, and artistic. Kel states that he does not deem himself has being a social person and added that he has no interest’s arts. This statement shows that there could be misinterpretation based on Kel’s score. Having achieved high scores in artistic and social subjects would be interpreted for his love of the subjects. But the fact that he stated he does not have any interest in art and he is not a social being then these results are directing the wrong direction. Being a college-aged client, I would then be tempted to say that Kel is a social being and has so much love for artistic which, would be a wrong interpretation of Kel’s interest inventory.
When providing feedback to Kel on the meaning of the scoring interest inventory, I will ensure that I remember the motive of providing feedback which will ensure that I am fair and balanced giving positive feedback. Further, I will be very specific on details so that Kel can get to understand the real meaning of his scores. This is by ensuring that I stick to the facts leaving less room for ambiguity. While giving the feedback I will ensure that I have limited my focus on scoring interest inventory and focus more on the positives. It will help in ensuring that Kel gets to understand what the scoring interest inventory means.
From the SAE code and the interest matched careers, Kel can get to understand his potential academic majors and career choices. Having received high scores on enterprising, art, and social subject but yet he is not a social person and has no interest in artistic leaves Kel with one major career direction of pursuing an enterprising relevant career.
