Professional Introduction
Hello Everyone!
My name is insert your name, and I live in insert where you live with my wife, kids, and one dog. As an individual, I believe in showing compassion towards others and helping the vulnerable in society is usually my priority. I believe it takes a collective effort to make the world a better place for all of us.
This is my final class, and upon graduating, I shall be a holder of a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology without a cognate. At the beginning of my study towards attaining this degree, I intended to complete it and then move directly to pursue a master’s degree program with a specific focus on counseling the combat veterans who have post-traumatic stress disorder and traumatic brain injuries. But then, as I got to practically engage in the treatment of PTSD, group therapy, and one-on-one therapy, I realized that it would be a toll order on my side to open up to a second-hand PTSD experience. At this moment, I stopped and prayed for God to help me readjust my plan because, as is stated in the book of Psalm 32:8, God always guides His children on the best path to follow, gives advice and watches over his people. I have since changed my focus, and I plan to apply for jobs at the VA upon graduation. I hope that this move will best place me to focus on my plans. I still have plans to further my education beyond the undergraduate degree because, by so doing, I will have what it takes to perceive the world in a better way (2016). I feel that God is directing me away from psychology, and He is calling upon me to venture into social work where I will work with the homeless veterans. I am not sure what I stand to gain from this class, but I hope the Lord always means good for me, and through Him, I will be able to make the right decision at the right time.
