3.0 Self Evaluation within the project
Gibbs Reflective Cycle Model
The Gibbs reflective cycle was developed by Professor Graham Gibbs in his book “Learning by doing.” This model is used for analyzing the experience obtained through working on a project. This model’s main objective is to identify self-weakness and strength so that this experience can be used in other projects (Potter, 2015).
Description-
The project was a good learning experience for all of the team members. Before working on the project, we had a meeting, and we selected the team head, Web designer, and project analyst for the project. Then the work responsibilities were `assigned, and then the Schedule for the project was set. All the members were selected according to their work capabilities and their likeness of doing a particular job.
Feeling
Being a student, it was like so many butterflies in the stomach with a mixed feeling of excitement and nervousness for the project. The excitement was that we were working on such a plan for the first time; on the other hand, we were nervous due to lack of experience and limited technological knowledge. To overcome our self –doubts, we go through the guidelines given by our Tutor and seniors and then developed the appropriate strategy to work on the project. This helped us to achieve our goals for the project.
Evaluation
With the help of suggestions given through the teachers and our seniors, we worked on the project that helped us to achieve our goals. Though some of our assumptions did not work according to the expectations but later with research and hard work, we accomplished our goals.
Analysis
The objectives were achieved through our strategic approach, and the estimation of the standard quality goals in the project plan’s set schedule was made. Though due to lack of experience and expertise, several loopholes were left. The scope of improvement in the project cannot be ruled out.
Conclusion
This project gave us a good experience of working on an E-commerce project, and it also helped me to realize the significance of planning. We learned our strengths and weakness that will help us in our future projects too.
Action plan
We will develop a more strategic approach to working on the next projects. We will learn more management techniques and will work on our technical; skills too. I will take suggestions from teachers, industrial experts, and seniors to work in a more efficient manner.
4.0Team performance evaluation – Tuckman Team Development
Formation of Team
We developed our team as we all had a good understanding of each other, and most importantly, each member had their qualities to work on the project. In our group, the Project head was responsible for developing the guidelines for completing the project and had developed the Schedule and job responsibilities of the project. Then the web designer was accountable for Preparing the E-commerce web portal for the product on the WIX, and Project analyst was responsible for collecting the requirement of the project and developed the report (Team Performance Management, 2009).
Storming
Initially, all the team members were very energetic. Still, as the project proceeded and complexities appeared, many conflicts arose, but with the understanding and mutual work, those conflicts were resolved. We also adopted the best practices in management. To overcome our self –doubts, we go through the guidelines given by our Tutor and seniors and then developed the appropriate strategy to work on the project. This helped us to achieve our goals for the project.
Norming
Though some of the issues and conflicts raised initially but with proper understanding and giving equal importance to each member’s suggestion, the disputes were resolved. The feedback from seniors was welcomed, and their views were taking constructively in our project. Though some of our assumptions did not work according to the expectations but later with research and hard work we accomplished our goals.
Performing
All the team members were given independence to work on their parts, but appropriate suggestions were given to each other. The team members accepted the feedback and ideas in a positive note and worked accordingly with mutual respect. But the scope of improvement and inclusion of more features cannot be ruled out. The web portal could have detailed information about the product and customer purchase mode for this web portal. The web portal can be designed in a more appealing way in E-commerce perspective. With the help of regular meeting and reporting of the work to the team head in presence of all team members.
Adjourning
In order to achieve a healthy work environment, we gave each member an equal opportunity to provide views and suggestions. In case any doubt or conflict was raised, the full efforts were given to resolve them. The lack of experience in planning was also an issue. But overall, the work was done with proper understanding.
Conclusion
E-commerce provides a reliable mechanism for sharing business information, maintaining business relations, and helps in maintaining the business relationship and conducting business transactions with the help of information technology and mainly through the internet mode. This mode of marketing provides a cost-effective way of marketing for the products. With the help of suggestions given through the teachers and our seniors, we worked on our project that helped us to achieve our goals. Though some of our assumptions did not worked according to the expectations but later with research and hard work we accomplished our goals.
