Promotions
In marketing terms, promotion is the voice of the marketer that informs or persuades customers of the benefits of a good or service. Promotions create awareness, evoke interest, increase sales, competitive retaliations, and help companies develop brand loyalty or image. For advertisements to work for marketing purposes, they need to effectively create a distinct picture of the product in the client’s mind, which makes the client want the product. Effective promotion strategies provide long-term success to the marketer or an organization. Promotions are essential since they play a role in the 4 Ps of the marketing mix. The four P’s are product, price, place, and promotion.
Promotion plays a part in the marketing mix through the promotional mix or promotional plans. Promotion plans specify how much attention marketers should pay in the promotional mix elements and how many financial resources should be allocated in promotion activities. Promotion can be visual or verbal communications such as social media, radio, television, billboards, brand ambassadors, or periodicals, and many more.
Recently I was torn between choosing either Nike or other shoes, but the most recent Nike advert evoked my feelings and won my heart. Through their advertisement, Nike does not sell the products; they also include a personal touch of the products they advertise. They also create meaningful adverts that are effectively creating a loyal fan base of Nike’s products. Also, their cheap and quality products accompanied by free delivery across America were a significant influence on my choosing their product over other products.
