Psalm 19
Module 7
Psalm 19 is categorized into three parts, which includes the revelation of God in creation (1-6), God revelation in law (7-11) and the response of a faithful man (12-14). The initial six chapters show that the heavenly bodies are a clear indication of the powerful and creative nature of God. According to verse 1 and 2 of Psalms 1-2, heavens are preachers of the sky who proclaim the existence of truth. Besides, the universal language is commonly spoken.Furthermore, God law is unusual such that it can be described in many aspects. Verses 7 refer to the law of God as perfect because it can refresh the soul. Besides, the statues of the lord are considered right. The decrees of the lord are deemed firm to verse 9 because they are all righteous. Verse 10 states that they are sweet than honey and precious like pure gold. The Lord wants the servant to keep away from willful sins so that they may not turn away. The law of the lord is desirable and precious, according to verse 10. Chapter 14 is encouraging because David’s words act as a meditation to his heart so that it can please Lord whom David calls his Rock and his Redeemer. Verse 12 states that a man of faith can only respond with a player that he kept from hidden sins. The fear of lord endures forever.
Psalms 19 is celebrated the “to.ra” God’s law as also showcased in Psalms 1 and Psalms 119. The Psalms begins by celebrating the universe and then celebrate to.ra law of God. David views life as a form of giving, just as the sun gives life. While providing the benefits of the law, Psalms 19 also admits that it is unable to keep the law. Psalmist asks for forgiveness to become blameless. The outer circle of Psalms 19 celebrates the whole universe because it considers all of God Creation, especially the sun which appears to celebrate the glory of God. The instructions of God regarding his will are incorporated into the board. The inner circle narrows focuses on the author of psalms. He struggles to keep the law and continuously plea for forgiveness.
Day unto day shows the speech and night reveals knowledge. The sky speaks to us by revealing the glory, creativity, wisdom, and thus greatness. Day bid us labor while the night reminds us to prepare our final home. We are supposed to work during the day and rest at night; day offers us desire an endless day while the night warns us to escape from the everlasting night. The fear of the lord is clean because it endures forever. The fear of the lord is deeply connected to the majesty of God.
