Qualitative and quantitative measures
Qualitative and quantitative measures will be vital in determining the viability of the quality improvement project in reducing diagnostic errors. The primary quantitative measure will be the number of diagnostic errors recorded after the project implementation. On the other hand, quantitative measures will include factors causing diagnostic mistakes after the project implementation and will be vital for improvement. The nurses will represent the quantitative data using histograms and bar graphs to determine whether the intervention was viable in reducing diagnostic errors. Both the histogram and the bar graphs will plot the number of diagnostic errors per month. The two charts will be critical in evaluating whether the project implementation reduced the cases of diagnostic errors while investigating other non-captured cause factors.
