Topic 2 DQ 1
Quality improvement in healthcare is crucial as it ensures the safety of care provided by healthcare workers. The Standard for Quality Improvement Reporting Excellence Guidelines was produced in the year 2008 to increase precision, accuracy and completeness of published reports which are meant to improve the quality and safety of healthcare. My proposed project fits in the SQUIRE guidelines since it aims to improve the value, quality and safety of care provided by healthcare providers (Davies, Batalden, Davidoff, Stevens & Ogrinc, 2015). The project will also ensure information collected from the healthcare system is accurate, precise and complete to facilitate quality care. The project will promote organizational intervention aimed to improve patient safety in the facility. Thus, the project fits SQUIRE guidelines to promote healthcare quality and safety of patients through complete and accurate data from the systems.
My project is a quality improvement project because it aims to promote the way care is provided to patients. It will affect the processes through which care is provided so that they can be improved to offer quality and safe care to patients. The project is for a change of process and systems which have been identified to affect the quality of care and patient experiences. It is not a research project as it will only make changes to the existing systems but not implement a new initiative in the facility (Ouslander, Lamb, Tappen, Herndon, Diaz, Roos & Bonner, 2011). The program will make changes in the house and evaluate to see how the new system will work. The project involves fewer people and the efforts required are small not like for research project which involve many people.
