Executive Summary of a Quality Oversee Committee

Violence is common, especially in places where different people interact daily. Health institutions are one of the sectors that accommodate many humans from all sorts of life. The institution requires a well-planned working formula that will ensure all the institution’s players live well in a harmonious, peaceful environment. Despite the plans being put in place, violence still does exist in the healthcare set up. The following summary is aimed at proposing a better initiative that will serve the public’s interest, who mostly are the patients, the hospital staff and managers, and the general public or the country at large (Meade, 2018). A quality oversees committee will comprise five committee members where a single individual will represent each aspect of the players. It will comprise a patient who is also a member of the general public, a doctor or a nurse, one of the institution’s managers, a representative from the hospital’s support staff, and a member of the government administration. Such a committee will handle issues from all scopes that can lead to the eruption of violence in the medical fraternity.  The committee will aim to solve and identify the root cause of every form of violence, which involves the hospital.

The target population or audience

This committee’s target population is the members of the general public, who are mostly the patient in the hospital. They are involved in violence within the hospital’s environs due to various reasons like unfair treatment in the hospital, overcharge, poor patient handling, or even poor language (Meade, 2018).  The initiative also targets the doctors and the hospital’s general staff since they are also part of the hospital. At a point, they may be directly or indirectly involve them. The last target group is the administrative officers in society. If a violent scene may occur in the hospital by any chance, the officers will be involved. Hence, it is better to involve the same officers in the initiative to help solve and eradicate such scenarios.

Benefits of the initiative

The initiative benefits all the members who consume the services of the hospital environment. They include the patients, the staff employed by the hospital, or the administration of the day. Benefits are also on the part of the administrative officers who are frequently involved in handling violent hospital scenarios.

The day-to-day activities of the hospital will improve. The committee is initiated to handle violence in the hospital before the matter escalates to greater heights and levels, which may involve other government (Saliluddin, 2018). The committee will act as a bond between all the society; hence peaceful coexistence between them will pose positive results to the hospital.

Members of the public will be enlightened by the committee on their rights when they come to the hospital. Any act that is not in line with the outlined rights should be reported to the committee’s office, and the dispute will be handled, taking into consideration all the party affairs.

The administration officers will also benefit from the initiative since much of their time will be directed to other roles and different and essential duties of the state. Therefore, it will free more of their time and resources, which may be used in handling hospital-related violence.

The interprofessional collaboration required to implement the initiative

To implement the above-discussed initiative, it would be essential to involve other professionals that will help achieve the initiative’s intended objectives. Psychologists and counselors are vital professionals that should be involved in this initiative. Bearing in mind that the initiative involves different persons from various fields, psychologists are crucial in the committee implementation (Saliluddin, 2018). They will help understand and internalize the issues raised that can lead to violence. A counselor will be of equal importance since after the conflict has been solved, a follow-up needs to be done to avoid such an instance re-occurring.

The cost or budget justification

The initiative cannot be implemented without a well-elaborated budget since the process will require some resources and funds. There need to be some resources and funds budgeted for the activities of the committee. The following is the budget of the committee,

In conclusion, the above initiative can only be implemented if all the players collaborate to help solve violence and conflicts in the hospital environment.
