TOPIC: REFLECTION.
Some of the core competencies that support communication and safety include: Leadership, successful leaders instill trust, provide direction, and delegate responsibility. When a leader builds and instills trust, it enables his team members to trust and keep confidence in the work. Adaptability This is the ability to adjust to circumstances and think creatively. An example is when a nurse is creative in problem-solving and inspiring others to diverse working styles and varying environments, leading to improved patient outcomes. Building relationships, building personal relationships may be the most crucial component of being a leader. Thus leading to team success in your workplace and within team success, leaders resolve conflicts fairly and in a spirit of cooperation. Communication: All leaders must be able to listen to others since each member needs to express their feelings or opinions that will improve the organization’s growth band outcomes. (Zheng et al., 2019).
To deliver quality care in health care, you need to; improve safety by taking measures to make medical mistakes less frequent and less harmful. Measures of quality and safety can track the progress of quality improvement initiatives using external benchmarks. Benchmarking in healthcare is defined as the continual and collaborative discipline of measuring and comparing key work processes with those of the best performers. Ensure patients understand their treatments, by verifying that they understand their treatment plan, medication, and medical procedures; you give them a tool they need to notice and prevent errors in their care. Promote a team atmosphere, emphasizing teamwork, and being honest with staff about their roles in patient safety can make a big difference in your hospital culture and attitude towards preventing errors. Using monitoring technology can help nurses and physicians to follow the right procedure right patient and those keeping on top each patient’s needs. (Liu et al., 2019).
