Responding to the students
Connor Jacquin
Hello Connor, I am delighted to respond to your post about the stories we read this semester. As you have said, the story that you believe was best is, “Evidence of love in case of Abandonment: one daughter’s personal account,” I agree with you because of the explanations you have given. You say that you like this story because of the strict rules put in place to discourage abortion. From your point, I can guess that you are trying to point out that strict rules about social inequality should be put in place to discourage those who conduct it. Your arguments are good but the problem is that you have talked only about abortion. If you could have related the story with the general social injustices facing the world today would be better.
Zirui Wang
Hello Zirui, I am glad to respond to your post about the best story we learned this semester. You have selected pedestrian as your best story because of the technology. You have first given a summary of the story and what the author predicts in 2053. You say that technology would have taken control of everything. From your post, I get the idea the technology is slowly turning the world in different directions. This means by 2053, everything will be carried out in the house and hence reduce the mobilization of people. Your post seems to be very relevant but it is like you have summarized the whole story instead of relating it to the social injustices facing the world. If you could have improved your paper and make it more relevant to the social inequalities would be better.
