Response to David
There are many challenges one can experience when implementing a project. Resistance to change is an important setback when implementing a project which should not be overlooked by the leaders. However, managers should always be aware that they will always be a crop of individuals who will resist the proposed changes. As such, the success of the project is in direct relation with the proper management of the change resistance. To effectively manage resistance to change, the managers need to be aware of four types of people classified according to their response to change. These persons include people who initiate the change process, those who accept the change process, those indifferent to the proposed change, and those who will not accept the change. Individuals who are not part of the group are those resistant to changes. To address these issues, as highlighted, as strong nursing leadership will be needed that establishes a common understanding and innovating with team members by setting out clear intentions and incorporates the use of transparent information. This approach will also address the second issue where managers are unable to establish a relationship with their staff.
