Response to Michelle
I agree that resistance to change could be a barrier to the implementation of any project. Leaders should always be aware that there will always be individuals in their organizations who will resist the intended changes. As a result of this issue, it is significant for them to understand that the efficiency and effectiveness of the change process will be directly correlated with the resistance to change and the management of the change process. One of the causes of resistance to change is the threat of comfort. Most of the changes bring about personal discomfort and make the employees’ life more difficult. Strong nursing leadership and administrative support be crucial in overcoming the resistance. The type of leadership employed should be the one geared towards motivating people to change and creates a vision for an organization that allows the employees to be not only accepted but also innovative. This approach can be achieved through transformational leadership.
The selected group of stakeholders are adequate for the management of the project. The nutritionist, clinical staff, patients, and families will be vital in driving the project to fruition.
