Response to Student’s Discussion
I found your discussion quite informative. From your forum, I learned the difference between public and private health informatics. You use a simple language that is easy for the audience to read and understand. What is more interesting is the fact that you use personal experiences to explain the difference between public health informatics and private health informatics. I believe that your experiences help audiences better understand what informatics entails. I agree with you that informatics makes it easier for healthcare professionals to track patients, especially when there is an outbreak. Furthermore, the ability to search for information quite quickly improves the delivery of healthcare services. Therefore, informatics is essential in the creation of suitable programs that will enhance the medical industry.
I will like to suggest that you could have discussed the two types of informatics, which is better. For example, my opinion is that public health informatics is the most suitable approach. The reason being that the data in the informatics is collected from multiple sources. The information from various sources enables us to have a solid understanding of a particular issue. Thus, it is relatively easier to come up with the most suitable solution to a specific program. On the other hand, private health informatics is mostly ideal for that given organization. However, I believe that the information can be shared with other organizations to help create solutions that improve the healthcare industry. Generally, both public health informatics and private health informatics can be incorporated and manipulated to develop healthcare programs.
