I firmly believe human rights are critical for the peaceful existence of a society. States have an obligation not only to protect but safeguard the freedom and rights of every person. These rights include autonomy, sexual and reproduction rights. Although socially and across religions are highly demonized, I firmly believe that it’s not illegal and should be legalized with fundamental reasons. Based on some situations, abortion saves lives of the involved women, and legalization creates an operational process that protects the involved victims’ rights.
Over the years, societal norms and traditions have branded the action as immoral, creating a stigma against the women who have committed the vice. The use of the abortion process in some situations remains the only option in saving the involved women’s lives. Complications are rare while the process is carried out under the watch of qualified, skilled health workers. Unsafe abortions have been linked with massive deaths leading to more demonization of the process. I believe abortion is an option that should be legalized, and the freedom of choice of the people involved should be respected. However, based on my understanding should be considered as the last resort in solving health challenges.

Understanding the role of government and national elections is critical in the development of society. Voters are requested to make rational decisions that will empower its citizens through the electoral process. Voting offers citizens an opportunity to elect a government that will foster the development of citizens’ lives. Social and economic activities in a nation all depends on the political system in place. I firmly believe participating in citizens in the voting process without an understanding of how the states operate and the candidates’ manifestos is dangerous and should be discouraged.
Citizenship extends beyond obeying rules and orders of a given country. Individuals have the responsibility to promote and protect their states by being loyal and participation in democratic processes. Voting provides an opportunity for the citizens to make the country a better place by electing the leaders with the best policies that safeguard the majority’s rights and freedoms. Participating in the process is a natural right; however, lack of knowledge and understanding of how the operations work limits the process’s intention and leads to irrational decisions that have detrimental implications.
