Revision Plan
The lowest-performing categories on my paper were tone, style and grammar, and varied reliable sources. The first thing I did was go online and look up the proper structure and formatting of an MLA paper, from the heading to the in-text citations and the works cited page. I realized that I had made a lot of mistakes in formatting the article, and I plan to restructure the paper in the proper MLA citation. I also realized that I had included Wikipedia, which is not credible as a source in my essay. This prompted me to review all the references that I had used in my essay and removed the ones that were not credible. I plan to do further research on my topic and come up with several reliable sources to add to the credibility of my paper. Given I did not get the maximum marks in the other categories, I set out to edit my essay according to the rubric. One of the changes I plan to make is to the introduction, where I will write a clear thesis to guide my paper. After that, I will go paragraph after paragraph and ensure that each paragraph has a good topic sentence and only argues one point. In doing so, I believe it will add more flow and clarity to my paper. The other thing I will add is a conclusion. In my first paper, I left the essay dangling without any conclusion, and this would have dissatisfied any reader. My plan is to write a conclusion that encompasses my main points of the essay and offers a final word on the issue of racism in football. Once I have done all these, I will read through the paper and reduce first-person pronouns and delete informal words to make the paper more formal. I will also make a point of going to the EvCC Writing Center to make sure that the grammar in the essay is fine-tuned.
