In most cases, high traffic websites enable zip compression to reduce the zip of big files during retrieval and delivery. Zipping up files can reduce file size to up to 70% of its original size, thus increasing loading speeds. Caching can also improve overall performance. Each time visitors go to a site, browsers store the components of the pages. Most of the content remains static or uniform across the site. Therefore, for the content to be displayed, it does not have to be requested repeatedly. Caching these content will minimize the number of requests that take place between browsers and servers. A content delivery network can be used to enhance caching of static assets; however, other caching methods are also reliable (Gupta & Garg, 2014). Lastly it improving overall network security is another approach to achieving optimum user experience and secure website reputation. Some malicious incidents can put a website out of commission without your knowledge. For instance, DDoS attacks often take advantage of high traffic to reduce speeds. Securing a network can help overcome this because you can lose customers due to attacks.
