DISCUSSION QUESTION FOR CHAPTER 27
Increased risks come with extensive travel. This indicates that taking care of employees who travel requires organization. Firms have to make sure that their teams adhere and come up with a process that delivers security and safety as a priority to ensure that employees are protected. First, companies should ensure that they have good policies and travel systems. This is very vital. First of all, workers must comprehend the limits within their travel. Workers should ensure that they know their firms’ travel policy. All their travel bookings should be done in a central platform for easier monitoring during traveling and also assist in indicating risk travels. Secondly, security risk differs in many countries. Employers are required to get information from a reliable source. It is significant to get the approval process for nations that surpass an acceptable level of risk if a worker wishes to travel. Depending on risk levels, the feasibility of the trip must be inspected, and if accepted, proper actions should be followed.
Thirdly, assessment is vital, depending on the risk associated and where the worker is going. This will help evaluate the familiarity and understanding of the employee within the nation they are traveling to. The assessment outcome will determine the advice needed for the traveler. Lastly, employees should be provided with basic safety training that focuses majorly on risk assessment outcomes, the main risks to be encountered, and how to mitigate them. Depending on the country employees are traveling to, they should be limited in terms of places they should eat and sight-see. In countries with the high ransom, kidnapping, terrorism, and criminal cases, employees should not be allowed to eat from any place and sight-see every place. The company should organize a safe place where employees will visit and eat at.
