Select a relationship
Currently, I see an obvious relationship that is friendship. Although there is a different kind of relationships like a parent to child, sister to brother, husband to wife. For most of the relationship, we have seen a dominant role of the male gender. Anyhow for me, gender is only a biological classification.
In the case of my friend, we both have different gender, as I mentioned above, it is just a biological classification. For me, both deserve the same values, the right to make a decision and to talk about what they feel right or wrong.
A relationship should base on trust and open communication in which the person should speak freely about anything they want to.
If I discuss how there is a gender difference between us, I would like to say that both of us in this relationship has some different hobbies and some things. Like I love to play football, but my friend loves bowling, I love to play fighting action video games while my friend likes cool games like candy crush. I mostly eat meaty things while my friend is health-conscious, and she prefers a vegetarian diet.
Now if we look at communication, I am more open than my friend about my personal issues etc. while she is not that much open and sometimes most of the things she wants to avoid.
Benefits of feminine characteristics
There are many benefits of being feminine 1st thing feeling equal with men, and you have the freedom to wear whatever you want. You don’t care what other people say about you or think about you. Feminism shows that girls are not less than men in any field, and they can compete equally with men (Cancian, 1989).
What are the benefits of masculine characteristics?
In my thoughts, masculinity is a good thing if we use it in a positive way. Mans is healthy and stronger than women’s; therefore physical works that need strength should be done by men like lifting heavy things, but they should not consider that these things are only for men and women don’t have the capability to do this.
What are the adversities of feminine/masculine characteristics?
Both feminine and masculine characteristics have some positive effects, but unfortunately, there are some adversities. Now a day we watch on social media many girls abuse or disrespect men, and in their thoughts, this society is only for women there is no need for men, and similarly, masculine men have the same attitude, and they try to prove it men are superior to women. In fact, this is a male-dominated society which is not right both should play their roles equally some things are only for men and some are only for women like child caring and house caring are for women and administrative tasks should be handled by men (wood, 1994).
Summarize the role of gender in this relationship
Gender is basically a social tag assigned to sex like a male or female. There are social norms like a masculine should behave a male and feminine should behave like a female. Anyhow, when it comes about the relationship, it is the responsibility of both genders to maintain their relationship in a positive way (LaFraniere, 2007).
