SENSORY PERCEPTION
My Parents, My Treasure
Parents play a pivotal role in molding their children’s behavior. My parents’ loving, peaceful energy gives me life. As a family, we are united in small and big ways. They fill me with smiles every morning. When I see them, I see optimism as they make our house ooze with love and peace. They mean a lot to me and everything in my life. Their vibrant support always sparkles my mind.
My father is what you would call a jack of all trades. He is tall, well-built, and handyman. He believes that he and alone he can fix everything in his household. I remember there is one time the water pipe burst and instead of calling a plumber to do the job, ‘Mr. Fix it’ decided to handle the situation by himself with his lengthy hands. After a few minutes of his craftsmanship, we had an uproarious sound of gushing water. He had made the situation even worse as he had taken down the whole pipe. The water was swiftly filling the house slowly, with a whistling breeze. Still hardheaded, he was convinced that he would fix it, and there was no need to call a plumber. His resilience finally paid off after about an hour as he got the situation under control.
My father is a towering figure who is also a team leader. He has this reassuring tone that everything will be all right. He has a way of turning every moment into a learning moment. With a touch from his coarse hand after every work, he teaches me that I should not be afraid of getting my hands dirty in fending for myself. Whenever there is some community work, he is always present and fearlessly leads from the front. He has this resounding motto of service to all. With his ear-splitting and loud chants that motivate us to work, he makes sure the job gets done.
My mother is a sweet soul. She is a loving, caring, cheerful woman who always wears a dazzling smile. She is always elated to help and never wants to see anyone feeling down. She is a cheerful woman, and one can never have a dull moment around her. One thing is for sure that her cooking is heavenly; he and everyone agree with that fact. She makes delectable food that leaves our taste buds yearning for more. Her aromatic food can brighten up your day, even on your worst ones. She is one hawk-eyed woman who notices the slightest of changes in our moods and knows that something is up. She notices our behavior change and studies our body language.
In a nutshell, my parents have taught me resilience, patience, teamwork, kindness, caring attitude, hard work, persistence, and emotional intelligence, to mention a few. They are most caring, and with these qualities, they make us an attractive family. It is always surprisingly enlightening to have such parents.
