service-oriented architecture
A service-oriented architecture is a software design style whereby other components are provided with services through application components over a network by a communication protocol.

- According to my own opinion, Service Oriented Architecture is important because the organization is able to look at their problem holistically, that is, an organization has a huge overall control. Service-oriented Architecture is crucial because any developer coming to code for the business finds an already established standard of coding in the organization thereby limiting the developers from digressing from the organization’s architecture.
Therefore, service-oriented architecture simplifies testing in an indirect way because the services are autonomous, have full interfaces that are documented, and also are separated from the cross-cutting concerns.
- Diagrams I would use to explain to a non-technical manager about SOA.

Reason: The diagram is offering the modeling language and a map that is depicting the different components contributing to the successful modeling of service-oriented architecture. The diagram is also highlighting the aspects of what to do in a service development scheme. The diagram will guide on how to craft a project plan and also in the identification of the milestones.
