Shakespeare’s Richard the Second and Samuel 8 to 32 give a succinct illustration of the image of the king. In the case of Shakespeare’s Richard the second (Act 1-3), the image of the kingship is viewed from the exploitative stance. This is supported by the fact that the king has the overall authority of those that he is supposed to rule. This can be witnessed at ‘’ Then Abner said to Joab, “Let’s have some of the young men get up and fight hand to hand in front of us. ”All right, let them do it,” Joab said (Samuel Chapter 14).   The role of the character, as sought by the director, is to represent all mankind. The other characters are also allegorical since they personify abstract ideas like fellowship, knowledge, and goods. The director demonstrates the interplay between god and bad by the use of the characters. I feel that this production buy William Shakespeare is still relevant in the present-day due to the fact that it addresses inequalities that are still evident now.

I am of the understanding that Shakespeare’s Richard, the second, is relevant to the Judeo Christian illustration of the king given the position that it addresses some of the issues affecting the political faction in most societies. For instance, Shakespeare’s piece notes that the king killed his brother for political purposes, which saw him crowned the king after the calculated demise. In the same way, many political dictators and despots across the globe have reportedly silenced their political enemies and competitors through random murders and organized deaths. Of course, such events are met by confrontations by the surviving members of the respective persons who have been killed.
