Situational leadership contains four styles of leadership, namely, coordination, empowerment, cultivation, and support. Directing is the initial stage of leadership that applies to new employees who have little experience with the company. This stage requires the leader to pay critical attention to training the staff to get acquainted with the culture and structure of the organization. Coaching is the second phase which aims at affirming the team of their ability to get things done (Henkel, & Bourdeau, 2018). Complete competence in this stage leads to growth and acquisition of skills to begin working with little supervision. This phase is the supporting stage where the leader assists their team in unleashing their hidden potential. The final step is empowering, where the employee is sufficiently developed to undertake tasks on their own. The primary purpose of the leader at this stage is to enhance relationships and maintain morale.
