Many people are in a position to nurture and build their social relationship through social media. Some of the key platforms that have been utilized include Twitter, Facebook and Whatsapp. Initially, communication in the workplace was a bit difficult. With the integration of social media in organization communication, it is an essay to exchange ideas and knowledge in the organization. Many organizations in modern society are therefore adopting and encouraging organizational communication. Use of social media in business communication can be influential to employee performance among other stakeholders in the organization. The final report shall outline the impact of social media on work performance within an organization. Problem-solving is another aspect that may be inclined to this study. Social media is brought to the tool, a vital one for bringing the employees together to solve their challenges. Thus the study in this paper encourages that social media may be one of the best forms of business communication in an organization. The final report shall also outline why social media is critical in strengthening the personal relationship between the colleagues of a particular organization.
The other critical issues that shall be elaborated are the drawbacks that may be inclined with the use of social media in business communication. Besides having so many merits, it may fuel crisis in the organization. Generally, social networking is vital in the workplace. It is categorized as one of the valuable business tools. However, the research shows that it is inclined to unavoidable problems. The performance of the individual employee may be affected hence the general output of the organization. This explains that encouraging the use of social media may have a negative effect on the organization’s affairs. People are likely to neglect the important duties of the organization as they use social media. Human resources (employees) has recently turned out as the most crucial assets in an organization. The success of all other assets in an organization is dependent on human resources. From the bending theory, some things are influential to employee performance. One of them is the attractiveness of the employees in the social media and this is attributed to the need to search for information, self-congruity between the employer and employees as well as building the corporate image. Therefore, the information retrieved from the social media may not be of such a negative impact on the employer as thought by many.
