In our situation, the friend had a post on Instagram that expresses how was irritated by the president of the United States. While he was free to post his attitude towards the United States president, the way he revealed it was wrong as he used vulgar language and images of animals probably comparing the United States president with those animals. As a result, people who were commenting on the post gave a negative feedback since they felt it was an unpleasant way of expressing one’s feeling in a social media platform.
While one can express his or her feelings about a situation in social media, getting the message delivered in the right way might require the individual to try and moderate the mode through which the feelings are expressed (Yun & Trumbo, 2000). Therefore, people will be sensitive about how a message is delivered in a social media platform while they will pay attention to the style used to communicate with other users. Despite the wrong that a person might have committed, people hold that a person’s dignity is to be upheld. The post should not contain foul language that was used, and instead, it was better to use phrases like ‘the actions of the United States president failed to match his position’.
