Social Network Issues
The society at large is comprised of aggerates of individual components that function independently under the influence of other factors. This brings out the network of things and how, at their levels, work together to achieves one unified goal. On the outside, it appears to be one aggregate but operates as single different components in movements. This will bring out; therefore, the distinction between relationships of things in the society, and these items interact to create a concrete network.
The network approach establishes the ties that exist between distinct relationship patterns, modes of coordination, and other factors like agendas, political opportunities, ideological stances, and contingent interactions within the society. Social phenomena, therefore, can be defined as a network of relations within the society that the community can interpret as a network. The outcome of an action can be traced back to the constraints imposed and opportunities offered in the social relations, through a link of systems. This paper aims to review the application of network approaches to social phenomena, with a review of two kinds of literature.
Social Network Dynamics and Biographical Disruption
This article examines the impact that dynamics surrounding biographical disruptions may be compared to more routine fluctuations in the social networks (Brea & Bernice, 2012). There is a clear indication that the social network of people in the population at large is small initially but keeps on increasing with time as the individual interacts with more people and social phenomena. Those who are undergoing mental treatment would tend to have a decreasing social network as it gradually is narrowed to those who are supportive over time.
The dynamic nature of social networks is a characteristic of gradual changes that are familiar to the rhythm of daily life and those changes that occur on an intermittent basis. A clear indication is instability in a personal social network, which can be seen to be streaming from significant events in the society like marriage, birth of a child, and initiations. These are the forums in which one’s networks grow no only with the environment but also with the people therein. Some of the events can also have a significant negative impact on these social networks that are created.
Some events that occur in the society may deter these social networks. These include some negatives social phenomena such as divorce, job loss, conflicts, stress, and natural disasters. These phenomena are some of the factors that loosen the network that exists between people and the environment and the systems that could have been created in the future. Sicknesses may also trigger a network crisis in the life of an individual. This is because illness interrupts the typical structure of one’s life and those around them. It, therefore, affects the social interaction and network among the people.
The main argument here is that biographical disruptions to an individual as a social phenomenon interfere with the person’s social network. The research identified that people with mental illness have a more extensive social network than a generally average person. This network shrinks as the condition worsens. N example is given with people suffering from depression, they
