This article talks explicitly about intergovernmental initiatives in the development of a policy system affecting biodiversity and services of ecosystems. There have been indications that to achieve these policies; there should be an understanding of social sciences. The researchers in this paper aim to identify the role that social sciences may play in this initiative. The scope of study in this research is global. The parties involved have recognized social science scholars and are carrying out an assessment on their views on the role of social sciences in this initiative. The overall global assessment will be presented at a later date. The findings of this research are that to achieve this initiative successfully, it is crucial to attract more social science scholars who can include the loss of biodiversity and ecosystems as part of a plan that affects the public.
This research article may be useful in identifying the role of social sciences in the intergovernmental initiative for biodiversity and ecosystems. It, however, has some shortcomings. For instance, the presentation of the article does not indicate the different stages of the research process. The participants have no clear definition of how they were able to come up with their findings. This may discredit the validity of the conclusions they make, which are represented in the form of the role of social sciences and the challenges of engaging the scholars. Outlining the different stages of research in the journal article could go a long way in proving the facts and findings that get included in the report.

In this article, the researchers delve into studying the impact that social studies have had on understanding equity in health. The researchers identify that different regions experience different diseases. This can be explained by understanding social science. The findings of this research indicate that factors like gender roles and ways of life, which are essential parts of social science, have a significant impact on the health of people. The paper is part of a series that is meant to identify the effects of these social sciences on the making of health policies that affect the people equally. In this article, different research methods get identified. The researchers, however, note that the most effective methodology would be one that assesses the quality of the study. This includes creating theories that can, in turn, frame the entire research process.
This research article seems quite inconclusive since the researchers fail to include the findings of their research clearly. However, the reason for this may be that the paper is part of an ongoing series. The article in entirety appears to be a particular part of the series written to encourage scholars and policymakers to get a hold of the series which can provide necessary insights to the equity of health policies. These insights get generated by analyzing the impact of social interactions, patterns of migrations, ways of life and behavior on the health of individuals and a particular society as a whole. The contents of the series seem to identify why the people with lower living standards all around the world seem to get affected by disease and infections more often than the rest of the global society that gets exposed to better conditions of living.
