Social scientists’ integrity
A social scientist has an ethical responsibility of maintaining and upholding integrity in their research. However, this proposal does not do so as it portrays a form of biasness in the outcome. The proposal when exposed to the public may affect the races proved to have high incidences of crime. It may lead to discrimination in matters of for example employment.
Proposal 2 Electroshock Therapy:
The research may cause significant harm to the individuals involved which a social science researcher should aim to avoid. However, if the student wishes to continue with the research measures can be put in place to ensure that it is done in an ethical manner. The researcher may have to seek the consent of the participants under study and inform them of the possible risks and harm associated with the study. The researcher may also have to inform the participants that they would have the right to leave anytime they felt right with no consequences attached to their decision. In a general note, the research would not be for the better good of the public and needs to be reconsidered.
Proposal 3 Health Problems, Diet, and Social Economic Status:
The proposal aims at benefiting the public from its outcomes. The research will help improve the quality of life for individuals and help them have a healthier diet decision making and living. I do not view any ethical considerations that are in the proposal. The researcher can maintain their ethics in research by ensuring that the issue of confidentiality is discussed with the participants. They should also ensure that they maintain cultural sensitivity among their interactions with the participants.
