sports industry
In modern society, participating in the sports industry is a significant benefit that no human should be restricted from, based on age, race, or gender characteristics. Discrimination against women in the full range of available sporting activities is entirely unjust. Moreover, the only possible objective reasons for choosing one type of sport over another should be personal preferences, personal physical capabilities, and the infrastructure available in one’s community. Today, sports have become more of a gender controversial subject than just enjoying the players’ excitement in doing what they love to do so well. Additionally, women are generally underpaid in various sports compared to men; women sports do not give rise to sufficient revenue. Physiologically, women and men are equal to play all sports. Therefore, supporting a social stereotype that men are more effective in the sports industry than women is clearly spreading an absolute myth.
Both men and women possess the ability to engage in all kinds of sports. Women can participate in car racing, boxing, rhythmic gymnastics, or swimming, just like men can. Being popular for some types of sports for men does not imply that women cannot perform better in the sport. The main point is that public opinions and trends in different sports tend to change with time. The global momentum should be making the sports equally available to all genders because there is no objective reason to consider any sport to be gender-specific. Moreover, there is no single study that validates this idea. The fact that we deviate from is that girls are interested in sports at an early age, just like boys. However, due to social influences, peer pressure, and traditional values, girls eventually become more inactive in their sporting activities. As a result, with time, girls normalize to more calm sports and become less willing to engage in active sports.
Simultaneously, it would be incorrect to argue that both gender motivation for sports and their physical capabilities is absolutely similar. There is a reason why male and female tournaments, championships, and sports associations are held separately. For instance, a female tennis player would have a minimal chance of winning against a male player of the same rank simply because males can hit the ball harder than females, which is due to the nature of their bodies. Therefore, ignoring it would be a horrific blunder. On the other hand, research has indicated that females are more motivated by self-improvement and objective that are interconnected to the team’s success. At the same time, males are motivated by the idea of winning a competition or a challenge. Therefore, it is crucial to consider differences in males and females in the sports industry and how they should be coached.
Sports has turned out to be one of the most high-earning and most-aspired-to industries in the world. However, the sports industry is one of the most unfair fields where women are unfairly paid and taken no to be as valuable as their peers. The unequal pay for females is aligned with various perspectives. They perform quite at a lower level compared to men, women sports do not generate much money than male sports can create, and the physicality of various sports makes them less entertaining and inherent when women participate in them. Despite these hindrances for equal pay, it is vital to note that women play more games than their peers. Besides, females are strong as well, whereby they will always aim high to achieve their goals.
Gender is a contemporary issue in the sports industry that requires a quick address for all involved in sports. Additionally, it is evident that women in sports receive fewer payments and fewer media coverage than men. However, the number of women who are engaging in sports, although the issue of equal number, is not the only measure for gender discrimination in sports. It is crucial to note that regardless of gender, sports are beneficial to all, and therefore there is a requirement of consideration of gender budgeting for equal pay.
