St Lucia Zouks CPL 2020
The St Lucia Zouks is a Caribbean Premier League (CPL) cricket franchise based in Saint Lucia. St Lucia Zouks is one of the six teams of CPL created in 2013 for the inaugural season of the tournament. St Lucia has good experienced West Indian domestic players with a bunch of young talented overseas players. The current captain of the team is West Indian all-rounder Darren Sammy. He will lead the team for the 2020 season, and he also has good experience of captaincy.
St Lucia Zouks did not win any CPL title till now, but the team is looking forward for some positive cricket in CPL 2020. The team usually finished the league at the bottom position. St Lucia won only 4 games out of 14 games in their first two CPL season. The franchise signed Chris Gayle for CPL 2020 season in their side and focused on the batting line up of the team. Chris Gayle is an aggressive opener batsman who will help St Lucia to give a good solid start. The franchise also signed Afghan all-rounder Mohammad Nabi for this season.
At present, Andy Flower is the head coach of the team, and Darren Sammy is the captain of the team.
St Lucia Zouks Past Performances
CPL 2013
Darren Sammy was the captain of St Lucia in their maiden CPL 2013 season. He guided the team very well, and they showed good quality cricket. The team got experienced players like H Gibbs, Tamim Iqbal and Misbah Ul Haq in their side. St Lucia Zouks won their first CPL game against Guyana Amazon Warriors by 5 wickets. They won only 2 matches throughout the season. They won their 2nd game against Antigua Hawksbills. It was a very bad opening season for St Lucia zouks. They finished the tournament at the bottom position by winning only 2 games out 7. The first season was not suitable for St Lucia Zouks. The wicket-keeper batsman Andre Fletcher scored most runs (238) for St Lucia with a batting average of 39.66.
CPL 2014
After the failure in CPL 2013, the franchise showed trust in West Indian domestic players and gave a chance to domestic players. Darren Sammy maintained as the captain of the team for St Lucia Zouks. The team played just like the previous season. St Lucia Zouks won only 2 games out of 7 in CPL 2014 too. The team finished the league stage at second last position and also the CPL 2014.
CPL 2015
After 2 unsuccessful CPL season, in CPL 2015 St Lucia Zouks picked English experienced batsman Kevis Pieterson and West Indian seam bowling attack. The franchise showed trust on the fact, Darren Sammy, as captain. It was 3rd CPL season for Darren Sammy as captain for St Lucia. The team played good cricket but could only win 4 matches out of 10 in CPL 2015 and finished the tournament at second last position. Wicket-keeper batsman scored most runs (369) for St Lucia Zouks with a batting average of 36.90. It was the 3rd time when St Lucia finished the season at the bottom position. Not a single thing was going in favour of St Lucia.
CPL 2016
After the failure of 3 consecutive CPL seasons, the franchise did some changes in the team. The franchise signed “Mr Cricket” (Michael Hussey) and South African David Miller in their side for CPL 2016. The team won their 1st game against Trinbago Knight Riders and began the 2016 season by maintaining Darren Sammy as the captain of the team. The team started the season with good winning momentum and won 6 games out of 10. They finished the league stage at 3rd position and qualified for playoffs. It was for the first time in the history of CPL that St Lucia Zouks qualified for playoffs. They played against Trinbago Knight Riders in eliminator match. St Lucia scored 164 runs but could not defend the target, and Trinbago won the game by 5 wickets. St Lucia finished the CPL 2016 season at 4th position.
CPL 2017
The CPL 2017 commenced with a big defeat of St. Lucia Zouks against Trinbago Knight Riders. The franchise maintained Darren Sammy as a captain for the team. The beginning of the season was not as good as they wanted to be for St Lucia Zouks. The team finished the league stage at last position. The CPL 2017 season was the worst season for St Lucia Zouks. They failed to win a single match throughout the league. They played 10 matches and could not win a single match. The players disappointed the franchise and their fans. It was their worst performance in the history of CPL.
CPL 2018
The CPL 2017 was a big shame for both franchise and team of St Lucia Zouks. In CPL 2018, the franchise picked good players in the auction like Australian opener David Warner and West Indian Kieron Pollard in their side. The franchise also changed their captain in this season. Kieron Pollard replaced Darren Sammy from captaincy after 5 seasons. St. Lucia initiated the season with a big 100 runs defeat against Trinbago Knight Riders. St Lucia Zouks won their 3 games out of 10 and finished the season at second last position on the points table. Again the team performed below average, and again it was a defeat and disappointment for franchise.
CPL 2019
The franchise began the CPL 2019 by rereleasing Kieron Pollard and David Warner giving captaincy to their 1st captain Darren Sammy. Darren Sammy became the captain for St Lucia again after a year gap. St Lucia won their 3 games out of 10, and their 1 match was interrupted by rain. The team again finished the season at second last position, and it was like a streak of maintaining bottom position in every season continued for St Lucia.

St Lucia Zouks plays their home matches at Darren Sammy Stadium located on Saint Lucia. They played good cricket at home and has an excellent winning rate at home. The ground is good with the capacity of 15,000 spectators who came to support their team.

St Lucia Zouks Winning History
St Lucia Zouks did not have a CPL title. The team did not even play a CPL final until now. St Lucia reached playoffs only 1 time in the history of CPL. The team always finished at last position or second last position in the tournament.
St Lucia and Zouks Team Captain
Darren Sammy captained the team from CPL 2013 to CPL 2017. Then the franchise changed the captain in 2018 season and named Kieron Pollard as the new captain of the team. The franchise again changed the captain in 2019 season and brought Darren Sammy back as the captain of the team. The current captain of St Lucia is Darren Sammy. The franchise needs him to lead the team for 2020 season.

Andre Fletcher is a wicket-keeper brilliant T20 player. He is playing with St Lucia for more than 3 seasons. He is an experienced player in the team. He is also a leading scorer in the team. He has the ability and talent to play with the new ball and to give an excellent start to team. He can hit big shots on both spin and fast bowlers.
Colin Ingram
The franchise also signed South African Colin Ingram in this season. Colin Ingram is a left-hand middle-order batsman. He can provide stability to the team in middle overs and can also hit big shots, and he also plays well to spin bowlers. His presence will also help Darren Sammy as he has experience of playing T20 leagues.
