This indicates that there are officers that are working closely with the criminals in the area, and they are ready to use the money to silence the officers that pose an imminent threat to their trade.
- Poor pay may because the story indicates the vulnerability of most officers to be corrupt. The envelope delivered in the locker of the new officer was primarily done to ensure he protects criminals.

The problems are attributed to high-stakes, traumatic events for the following reasons: First, the threat to life and safety is emotional abuse that involves ongoing trauma C-PTSD and has several symptoms. Dealing with suspects who deal with drugs is not easy because if the officers fail to cooperate, they would always try to use all the available methods to eliminate officers who interfere with their business. In most cases, drug dealers would use other officers to eliminate those opposed to their trade.

This problem may have escalated to this extreme due to the poor remuneration of officers. The officers are corrupt, and this is the main reason why there is an envelope dropped into their locker, and they do not question the source of the money. If the issue is to be effectively addressed, the police department must look at the current wages that the officers get and improve on the amount they receive as pay to prevent them from being involved in corrupt deals.

Interpersonal reactions among the police are different from those of the citizens because the police are exposed to many traumatic events. They go through a lot because of the many threats that the criminals pose to their lives. Some of them go through horrific ordeals in the hand of criminals because it is hard to anticipate the source of threat and when it will come, especially when the officers do not work together or support one another emotionally.
