There are different reentries programs in the United States that help prisoners reenter society and adapt to the new changes. Some of these programs include employment and work release programs, therapeutic communities, reentry courts, and substance abuse treatment and recoveries. Employment and work release progress could be the best options for an internship. It also reduces the chances of criminal victimizations of poverty.

Working with any department of the armed forces shows patriotism and regard for the law. I understand the concern about police brutality and disregard for the law from both the police force and the civilians. I think this is a valid concern that needs to be addressed through reform. Programs that encourage closer relations between the police force and the people they protect will also suffice.

I agree with your assessment that the rules of engagement between the police and suspects are not as defined as they should. I also agree that the training underwent by police officers is to short and does not teach policing from a protections perspective. I, therefore, think the training should incorporate some aspects of law and order that are ignored, such as consequences for all actions, including police brutality and excessive use of force.

The topic of police brutality extrajudicial killings excessive use of forces has been a hot debate. The number of these cases has risen in the recent past, raising concerns about the role the police play in the societies. Your concern for these escalations is justified in light of the recent deaths of African Americans in police custody. Reforms need to be made to do law enforcement service to the people, not a source of victimization.
Hi Parker,
Your primary concern in regards to current policing is the racial mistrust and understanding among the people and within the police department. The issue of rapport between the citizens and law enforcement needs to be improved. Since the police are expected to serve the people, they also need to develop trusting relations with them though just actins and dealings.
The difference between the sheriff’s department and the police department is that the chief of police is selected while the sheriff is elected under the country’s government.
