Dear Sir or Madam,
I have been studying here for six years as a Dalian Maple Leaf International School student. I will earn my British Columbia and Chinese diplomas after graduating from high school. I have successfully adapted to the teaching process and curriculum structure of the Canadian education system through continuous learning. Therefore, I have decided to choose Canada among all countries to complete my higher education.
Over the last few years, I have had the opportunity to have a close conversation and learn important professional information with the university members of the Maple Leaf Education Fair. I also searched for the basic requirements for admission on the university’s official website. After a long
period of thought, I believe that McMaster University will be my best school. That consideration involves three factors of my own. I like to be in a quiet place. McMaster University is located in Hamilton, a relatively bustling city in Canada. It is less than the hustle and bustle of downtown Toronto. Also, I am not a student who can get a good grade just by being smart. McMaster’s majors, professors, and professional methods can help me learn more efficiently. Furthermore, the excellent academic accomplishments, the creative spirit, and the harmonious learning environment make me enjoy this university even more. Therefore, being admitted to the business major of McMaster University is the reason I decided to pursue higher education in Canada, and it is also my favorite major.
My parents have prepared enough money for me to ensure that I can complete the study and other personal goals at McMaster University. In my first year of undergraduate studies, according to McMaster’s curriculum, I will study the requisite courses at the university. Because I have selected the business major, the mandatory courses for the first year include DeGroote Student Experience and Development I, Introductory Financial Accounting, Organizational Behaviour, Business Data Analytics, Business Environment and Organization, Introduction to Marketing, Introductory Macroeconomics, Introductory Microeconomics and also Calculus for Business students. Also, I can choose an elective course because I need to focus my energy on compulsory courses to meet certain credit conditions to enter the second year of study. Beyond the first year, while completing the required courses, I need to plan elective courses in a reasonable manner. I need to complete at least two International/Cross-Cultural/Language elective courses in these four years.
More specifically, after two years of general business education, I need to make important choices in the professional direction and to plan elective courses for the third and fourth years.
Among them, I am interested in studying French, so this could be one of my elective courses to help me understand the culture and history of different countries. At the same time, I hope to join some clubs in the school. I was attracted by the golf club, Social Business Association, and the Asian FOCUS of McMaster University. The reason is that I like to play golf in China and I
want to stick to this sport. In MSBA CLUB, events are held every semester on social business core principles, possible career opportunities within the industry, as well as networking with industry leaders. If I can become one of them, being able to share the experience with excellent industry elites and learn more knowledge is not just an exercise, but also an accumulation for me. The Asian Federation of Charitable University Students is an award-winning non-profit organization representing Asian student communities at McMaster University. Asian FOCUS exists to encourage charitable contributions from the Asian community and the McMaster community at large through social, cultural, and voluntary events. I enjoy feeling the true meaning of life in these voluntary activities and helping others to make my life more meaningful. Then I am going to get a business degree from McMaster University. Also, I want to take part in some part-time work to learn as much as possible, to experience society in advance, and to lay a foundation for my future work in our country.
I will go back to China, Shanghai after I graduate from university. Shanghai is the financial capital of China, and it encompasses virtually all aspects of the financial industry in China. The dream of all job seekers is this bustling place. There are more opportunities in this city to apply for well-paying jobs and better career prospects. I can realize my full potential and give me a sense of achievement, as well. Fortunately, my parents have a very good friend who works in Alibaba, and she willing to recommend me to work in Alibaba after I have graduated from university. More importantly, My family plays the most important role in my life. Being the eldest sister of the family, it is my duty to take care of any member of my family, which is the tradition of my family.
Shanghai is close to my hometown, and I can go home quickly to take care of them.
Studying at McMaster University offers a great opportunity for me. In a position of excellent educational efficiency, I will continuously improve my ability and explore knowledge. I hope that the experiences of living and studying in Canada will become the most unforgettable memory when I return home. Studying in a country of opportunity, freedom, liberty, multicultural, and inclusive has been an honor. Finally, I look forward to studying with appreciation and passion in Canada, and I truly hope that with such a great opportunity, I will be granted.
