Summary of research conducted on ethics
The report below is a summary of research conducted about ethics. The aim of the research was to establish the effect of using twitter on the ethics of children of the age under 16 years. For quite a long time, twitter, alongside other social media platforms, have been working continouslytowards establishing the best way to control the spread of unethical media in those platforms. The progress is still ongoing, but this does not stop the negative impact it has on people’s behaviors. Our focus was on children under age 16, which is a susceptible age in the cognitive development of children (Jean, 1964).
For us to complete the research, questionnaires and oral questions were used to collect information. However, there were deliberate efforts to exclude children under the age of 16 years and targeted their parents, who we thought could account for their children’s behaviors. We also avoided those with reading or writing disabilities, mentally disabled, inmates, and any group that was suspected to be vulnerable and could give misleading or inconsistent results. Either, measures were put in place during the research to protect the respondent’s identity, which would otherwise lead to radical decisions by the children. The questions were also made concise to only touch on ethical issues related to twitter only. We administered questionnaires to ten parents and oral questions to others ten, and we managed to get detailed data that we compiled and analyzed.
However, it was noted during the research that honesty for some parents was an issue as they tried to cover their children, but as researchers, we were able to go over it. They were encouraged that it was not for any judgment of their families but the purpose of the research. We also promised to help affected children by recommending counseling.
