Synthesis Matrix
A synthesis matrix is a document, usually a grid, separate from an actual paper, which is used for recording main points from various sources and their ideas to take stock of what topics each author discusses, what they say on that topic. By putting all the authors on one sheet, one can easily see how their ideas relate, and when they start addressing and discussing any topic, they will also know what sources said about that topic and when and how to involve them in the conversation or academic writing. Below is an organized synthesis matrix table that serves the function it was designed for.
