The Iran hostage crisis began on 4th November 1979, it was after the revolution had taken place. The American people survived the wreckage but not without scars and bitter memories. The US Embassy used to supply Iran with weapons thus creating a bond with Shah which depicted different pictures to Iran. The Iranian militant stormed the US Embassy in Tehran and took sixty-six Americans into captive it lasted for 444 days and it marked the forces of radical Islamic. Shah lost trust from the Iranians after he became so close with the American military that was after he was received as a guest in October 1979 when he was seriously ailing from cancer. Ayatollah Khomeini emerged to be an intelligent strategist who was single-minded and confidential and a special link to the student as well in Iran. He was determined to create an Islamic state.
Shah’s profound relationship with American. They were introducing democracy in Iran thus bringing oppression to the Iranian leading to Shah losing his popularity in Iran. He terrorist all the Iranian in silence who were opposing his rule hence the US Embassy viewing him as the “country”.
The captivity that lasted for 444 days (the hostage crisis) was a clear indication of the Iranians fighting for their freedom and Independence. This was a total call for attention and settlement for the difference that had emerged between the two countries. It led to a revolution after Ayatollah Khomeini came in and intervened.
According to Farber‘s book, “Taken Hostage”. It reminds the reader that the past is a prologue and that’s the reason to why to-date the two countries still engage in war.
