Tales from The Organ Trade
Poverty and the need for money have made the increased rate of organ trade in the world through the black marked. The desperation for the desire of money and kidney requirement by a patient has led to an increased level of organ trade in the black market. Secondly, increased cases of deterioration of health on patients for instance in the case of kidney failure thus making the family go an extra mile of sacrificing some money through the black market to purchase a kidney for replacement. Thirdly, the black market being readily available which end up exploiting the most vulnerable who have the desire for money and benefiting those in critical condition and desiring to purchase the organs. Additionally, the desire to alleviate the pain thus making a person to replace the organ in order to overcome pain. Finally, the inability to raise the basic needs or in case there is a need to safe life of a more vulnerable person which raises the need for selling. In my opinion, there is a need for making organ trade legal to protect the less vulnerable who are exploited by people in the black market which in return will reduce the mortality rate.
