TASK FORCE ON THE ADVANCEMENT OF WOMEN IN THE BANK
Discussions have been rampant on the inclusion of women in the job arena. There has been an increased need for diversity at the workplace. Management has been working tirelessly to achieve this policy and therefore, formulating a task force to achieve this goal is a tremendous step in aim to achieve this objective. The Bank of Montreal has also established a task force on the advancement of women in banking management. With regards to Deborah’s case on how women were seen less capable and only considered when it mattered, the following recommendations were made on the advancement of women in the Bank.
Recommendations.
For the bank to maintain equality at the workplace, there is a need to choose a Vice president, whose vital aim is to ensure that the policy on workplace equality is upheld for a conducive working environment.
To ensure that the appointed vice president does not divert from achieving the goal, there is a need to formulate an advisory committee propelled at providing spearheading the equality goals.
There is also a need to create awareness on countering the perceptions against women; this will be achieved via communicating to the employees to get precise information hence deciding the next course of action.
To counter the stereotypes and perception against women on how they hinder a productive work environment and the development of women.
There is also need to educate and train the managers and those at the helm of management on understanding the importance of equality hence altering the mode of administration to one which is inclusive and also management that not only motivates employees to give more, but also offers training vital for employees to reach the apex of their abilities.
There is also a vital need to involve the community through job vacancies advertisement.
The management should also employ a job information councilor who is neutral to discuss with employees and the new applicants to understand where each one fits in the workplace.
