As a parent, how would you handle this situation? I would politely approach the teachers so that they would not notice that I am offended by their behavior. Besides they are the ones who take care of my child while I am not there and I would like them to treat my child well and be assisting her whenever she has a problem. Consequently, because teachers are very important I would explain to them how I would tell the teachers to try their best to pronounce the name correctly and also write it the way it is supposed to be. Also, this will help her to know how to write as well as pronouncing her name well. Children usually follow whatever the adults do or say and by so doing, the children together with Ah-nae will pronounce the name well. I would also teach the other children the correct way of pronouncing the name.
As a teacher if a parent approached you with this concern what would you say? Being a teacher is not easy either of big or small children of the big one and it takes one to be so passionate about the work to deal with all kinds of children. Mainly to secure my job as well my reputation I would whatever it takes to listen to the parent and address him or her well even if I will not do everything he tells me, I will try my best. Moreover, a teacher maintains his or her job because of the children he is teaching without the children he will not be there. So I would be happy to listen to the parent and assist the child.
Is this issue that would bother you if you were a parent? Yes, I do. Because whatever my child will hear and see she will observe it and start practicing even if it is wrong. Every parent is proud to hear her child doing well in class and so am I as a parent will I be happy whenever I hear my child saying the incorrect things.
How do your views on parenting impact working with the parents of the children in your care? I know very well that when I treat the parents well as well as the children they will put all their trust in me and they will spread the good news and bring more children for me.
