- What do you believe makes an effective teacher? (around 200 words)
Teachers are endowed with high power to change every child’s life and make a difference. Great teachers are passionate about their jobs and love what they do, enlightening their learners and creating smiles in their life. An effective teacher can connect with her or his learners and guide them in recognizing distinct methods of appreciating their environment and the universe. Effective mentors should be ethical paragons for their learners. They should emit zeal and dedication for their students to be positive, and the students’ attitudes towards a teacher contribute significantly to their learning experience.
Effectual teachers are always ready with defined and honorable prospects, have an optimistic frame of mind, are understanding with their learners, and should evaluate their coaching frequently. Learners understand and view things differently, and it is the role of the teacher in understanding their students to calibrate their teaching techniques to accommodate them and the learning contents ensuring their effective delivery. Teaching should be a joyous and fun experience for the teachers as it has remarkable and rewarding results. A person should aspire to be a teacher if they love and care about children wholeheartedly and have the ability to give it all, ensuring students get maximum content.
- Why do you want to be a teacher, and what makes you a suitable candidate? (around 200 words)
Teachers impact children’s lives daily by shaping their future characters. My great love and passion for children motivate me to be a teacher. I have a deep desire to understand children and put smiles on their faces. Seeing a sad child drives the need to talk with the child and alleviate the sadness giving them a friend to consult and make them happy. Making a child feel safe, exclusive, and secure is one of my ambitions for every child, helping them discover their weaknesses and talents. By keeping an open and supportive feedback system with the children’s guardians, supportive networks, families, and social circles, it allows inspiring them to indulge in projects and anchor learners’ family connections. Not only will I be achieving my dream by becoming a teacher, but it will also give me an opportunity of creating a difference in the children by impacting them positively and helping them learn and achieve their full potential. The great achievement overall will be positively shaping the future of the children and steer them in becoming their best person. With the advantage of being proficient in English and the advantage of the Chinese language, it will enable me to deliver the desired knowledge to my student and understand their differences clearly.

From May 2018 to the current date, I have been working as a practicing teacher at Bambinos Early Childhood Centre. Before this, I worked at First Steps Kindercare Newmarket as a learning instructor between April 2017 – May 2017 and at Remuera Kindergarten between Aug. 2016 – Sep. 2016. In these institutions, I have gained skills and learned how to develop personal evaluations of every learner’s distinctive performance; I have strategized and executed curricula and learning, and also created and formed class’s schemes. I contributed to exploring activities speared to advance early childhood education techniques accordingly. I have also gained the skill to identify the learners’ potential by creating events and chances appropriate to enable the learners’ growth stages to explore their senses and various developments. Excellent communication is also an added skill, as it portrays a vital role in a child’s growth. I learned by communicating the children’s welfare and progress with their parents and guardian, and I have also learned how to complete everyday inventory, children’s attendance, and similar documents.
In Sep. 2017 – Jan. 2018, I worked at Discoveries Educare and ABC Epsom Childcare from Apr. 2016 – May 2016 as a teaching aspirant. I observed and participated in routinely teaching of students and motivating learners to recognize and establish their strengths; monitored and spearheaded the learners’ creativity projects; Prepared sessions through assembling of required items and organizing activities; Executed institutional safeguard precautions and methods, mode of behavior and motivational packages; Helped in controlling the learners during learning sessions, recess, lunch, and other activities periods. Was involved in student learning support system that entailed in increasing their learning development. I documented the learners’ performance and growth and discussed them with their guardians. Lastly, I helped in administrative work, like data entry and filling observed by the institutions.

I hold a computer certificate and am well acquainted with the Office software like Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and education software. In today’s growing environment, technology is advancing rapidly, and we all need to equip ourselves, thus having the technical know-how to maneuver around. The growing generation is more digitalized, and to be a great teacher, one also needs to be able to understand and identify with them in a manner they are more comfortable and more natural for them to deliver the required content.
Have undergone basic training with the Red Cross CPR and have a First Aid necessary training certificate. Immediate response to any emergence is a vital skill that aids in alleviating casualties and ensures urgent care to injuries. As I currently work at Bambinos Early Childhood Centre, I help in monitoring safety measures around the institution, providing a hazard-free environment in which children can learn and practice. The first aid know-how is essential and wanting to be a teacher and having a passion for kids and to be around them, it helps handle small accidents and injuries, as they are very active and enthusiastic am most of the time up and down.
I also hold a certificate in the Chinese language. Very fluent and proficient in the language and understand the Chinese customs clearly. Different students decide to take different styles for their future advantages and due to different interests. Having an understanding of the language, it can help in teaching and guiding any students following on that line and wanting to discover more about the language. Learning about different customs shows a proper appreciation and flexibility of different persons’ views and behavior. Being proficient in a word magnifies the person’s potential to perform better in creating activities’ resolutions and better presentations. It helps one have good esteem and improves the ability to deliver information accurately and have a unique point of view of the world.
