Teaching an Employee About the Company’s Cars Driving Policy
It is essential to inform the employee about the company’s car driving policy, purpose, and scope. It should be made clear to the new employee on the policy elements (Murray, 2019). These elements include a clear description of those employees who are eligible to be assigned a company car. Some of the requirements here include (Murray 2019). Firstly, if there are any set of standards in terms of miles, an employee must cover to meet the shoppers or vendors. Secondly, inform the employee whether the car is given a benefit devoted to their work (Murray, 2019). However, employees must be informed that for them to qualify for the company’s car, they must possess valid documents, including an updated driving license and a desirable history of driving for a given time frame.
Importantly, an employee should be informed about the company’s vehicle for those with disabilities. For this case on disabilities, the employee has to be facilitated with the details on how to get access to the company vehicle. It’s upon the company to make such recommendations (Murray, 2019). Furthermore, if an employee does not get the company car but believes that he or she is eligible, they have to be told to contact the company’s HR (Murray, 2019). Additionally, part of the teachings should include the requirements for the company car’s personal use, the company driver rules, and the accident procedures (Murray, 2019). For example, should an accident occur, the employee should be told that one should directly report to the company HR, who then approaches the responsible insurance company (Murray, 2019)? Other necessities for the new employee include company responsibilities.
