Team Leader Challenge Responses
Hi Fletcher,
A team approach is the best for creative ideas in any organization. This is because, in a team, the members can brainstorm on ideas and choose the best idea from the stated ones. A team approach to creativity allows each team member to come up with a suggestion of what should happen which enhance the creative idea. You can also include that in a team; an idea can be supported or denied which offers room for other team members to learn more about a project. Also, the creative ideas are variety which means the team leader have more choices to consider and ensure that the most creative idea is employed.
The problems associated with team approach according to your post include lack of the right structure to support the improvisation. What do you mean by fewer ideas in a group approach? I like the way you will apply your personality type tom ensure creativity in organizational projects. How can you use your personality type to solve conflicts in the team approach?
Hi Can,
Creativity in group can be enhanced or hindered. According to your post, team creativity is hindered where we have poor communication which can prevent group members from being creative. This is true because when there is poor communication; team members will not be willing to contribute their ideas towards a project which makes team approach less effective. Also, consider the time that will be used to generate the ideas compared to when one is an individual. The advantages of group approach come in where variety of ideas can be discussed. This ensures that the most creative idea is used for a project. I would like you to explain how a group with conflicts can generate more ideas than the one with fewer conflicts.
You state that your personality type is ENFP which is more of an extrovert. How do you manage to create time for others to talk during the session of generating ideas? How do you relate with those of an opposing idea during idea generation time?
