The black press: Soldiers without swords

“The black Press; soldiers without a sword” is a film that shows how black journalists, news anchors, and publishers played a vital role in uniting the community and promoting peace since 1827 in the united states of America. The film is divided into sections, showcasing different subjects concerning African Americans. The film is based on the spirit of activism, seeking to promote a positive attitude among African Americans during the 18th and 19th centuries.

The most exciting thing is the unity, peace, and harmony that the press aimed at exuding among the Africa Americans. Most of the publications were based on showcasing that the African Americans were also people and that they should have equal opportunity as the white. For example, the press used to show children being born, the cohesion of the black with other whites, the intermarriages they had, and the children they would have. The media also helped most of the immigrants from secure south jobs when they migrated to the northern cities. They would publish job opportunities so that the readers could quickly locate the jobs.

The black press resolved most of the underlying issues that the African Americans had and made them known, like fighting against drugs. In the film, they were the excavation of a crack house in which shootouts had occurred recently. This was the first case in which cocaine places and other drugs were discovered, soothing that the mainstream media had not discovered. The white media were unaware of the crack house because the proceedings didn’t affect their people. Therefore, it encouraged the white press to work together with the black press to uncover some of the things which had not been or would be difficult for the mainstream media. This union served to promote unity and cohesion between the black and the white Americans altogether.
