The episode “Citizen Knope” of the film “Parks and Creation”
Discussion 2
In the episode “Citizen Knope” of the film “Parks and Creation” Leslie was able to gain so much support so fast. Her rapid success was based on various factors. But one of the most important factors is that Leslie forms a citizens’ action committee to keep busy and continue involvement with the local government and very Christmas, everyone in the parks department receives extremely thoughtful gifts from Leslie (IMDB, 2009). In the long run, the union became a strong organization sharing a wide range of social targets. In addition to Leslie’s strategy, it is imperative to renew the long-interrupted tradition of research into political socialization by focusing on the impact of formal civic education and related school-based experiences on the formation of the civic outlook of young adults (Gaston, 2001).
A good example of a local election campaign advertisement is one that promotes social equality, irrespective of the citizens’ racial background, ethnicity and gender. “It’s Not Over,” by Bernie Sanders is a good one. After Eric Garner, an African-American man died when police officers put him in a chokehold in 2014, there was a campaign by Bernie Sanders in Vermont to foster equality and eliminate discrimination within the United States Criminal Justice System (McManus, 2016). That aside, a bad example of a local election campaign commercial is one that is based on stereotypical norms. In Texas, countless local campaigns were primarily aimed at stopping illegal immigration. And it was based on the fact that immigrants are responsible for the high rate of crime in the United States. Now, these types of political ads are bad because net migration has declined, and evidence suggests that illegal immigrants commit crimes less often than U.S. citizens (McManus, 2016).
